A graduate of Queen’s University Belfast and holding a Master’s in Development Studies from the University of Melbourne, Steven’s academic foundation is firmly rooted in global excellence and development-focused learning—values that align seamlessly with Inspire College’s mission to deliver world-class, affordable, and industry-relevant education to the next generation of Sri Lankan leaders.
With over 25 years of executive leadership in private equity, strategic transformation, and corporate governance across Sri Lanka and South Asia, Steven’s influence spans both the public and private sectors. As the former Group CEO of Hemas Holdings PLC (2013–2020), he led the company through a transformative era of growth, innovation, and regional expansion. Prior to that, he held senior investment roles at Actis LLP and CDC Capital Partners, overseeing high-impact investments in emerging markets, particularly in Sri Lanka and India.
Steven currently serves as the Non-Executive Chairman of Ironwood Capital Partners and sits on the boards of several prominent Sri Lankan companies, including CIC Holdings, Printcare PLC, and Educopathways, further reinforcing his commitment to driving excellence in education and sustainable development.
